This Privacy Policy explains how the Passport Photo app (“the app”, “we”, “us”) handles your information. We are committed to protecting your privacy. The app is designed so that your photos and face data never leave your device.
To help you take a compliant passport photo, the app uses Apple’s on-device Vision framework to temporarily analyze the photo and compute basic face geometry — a face bounding box and facial landmark points (the face/chin contour and eye positions). This is used solely to verify that the photo meets passport requirements (that exactly one face is present, that the face is centered, that the head-to-frame proportion is correct, and that the eyes are open) and to crop and frame the photo accordingly.
This face analysis is performed entirely on your device and only in temporary memory. The app does not create, store, or use any facial-recognition template, faceprint, or identity profile, and it does not identify or recognize individuals. The computed face geometry is discarded immediately after each photo is analyzed and is never stored, never transmitted off your device, and never shared with any third party. We do not retain any face data. The only output that is kept is the finished passport photo image, which is saved to your device’s Photos library only when you choose to save it.
Photos you capture or process are handled on your device. The app saves a passport photo to your Photos library only at your request. We do not upload, transmit, or store your photos on any server, and we do not share them with any third party.
The app requests camera access only so that you can take a passport photo within the app. The camera feed is processed on your device and is not recorded or transmitted by us.
The app may display advertisements through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device and usage information in accordance with Google’s privacy practices to deliver and measure ads. AdMob does not receive your photos or any face data. With your permission (requested via Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt), advertising identifiers may be used to show more relevant ads; you can decline, and you can change this at any time in your device Settings. If you purchase the ad-free version or other in-app purchases, the transaction is handled by Apple. We do not receive or store your payment information.
We do not collect or retain personal data, photos, or face data on any server. Face data is transient and discarded immediately after analysis. Photos remain on your device under your control.
The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.
